Torch has taken a radically new [and simply more effective] approach compared to watchtowers, satellite imagery, or ultra-expensive camera equipment. Torch consists of distributed solar-powered IoT devices that are installed in just a few minutes. Our highly affordable price point allows for wide adoption: from consumers looking to protect their private property, to agriculture and vineyard owners, to utility companies and governments.

We are seeking a skilled Firmware Engineer with Algorithmic skills to join our team. The successful candidate will be a versatile engineer capable of working on various aspects of our firmware development, from low-level programming to IoT implementations and algorithm optimization as well as electronics testing/debugging and optimizing power consumption.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Develop firmware for STM32 microcontrollers reading data from several&nbsp; sensors ( such as to read images from an RGB imaging camera through a DCMI interface, other devices with I2C and SPI protocols).</li><li>Implement and improve fire detection algorithms</li><li>Collaborate on sensor calibration and field measurements</li><li>The firmware for sending data out through a cellular modem and LoRa network will also be needed.</li><li>Optimization of data transmission through cellular connectivity and through LoRa will be done first on the development boards followed by our own specific boards.</li><li>Optimization of power is extremely important as the devices will be solar powered, not plugged into any power sources.</li><li>Conduct comprehensive testing of electronic systems</li></ul>---------This is a critical hire as we transition from V1 to V2 of their product.
